Cancer Survivors Day

Cancer Survivors Day

This nationally recognized day is celebrated annually with a picnic and program on the first Sunday in June.  This event offers an opportunity for patients currently being treated, former patients who have completed therapy and their families to enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and entertainment.  Sponsored since its inception 1991 by Hematology Oncology Consultants, Edward Hospital and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, this community wide event is open to any cancer survivor, regardless of where they were treated or when.  A nominal donation is suggested to defray expenses.  Entrance fee to the Arboretum is waived to all attendees; parking is also free with tram or trolley transport to the event site.

Attendance is open to ALL cancer patients/survivors and family members.  Invitations are not necessary!  RSVPs are not taken!  Please join us!

From the time of diagnosis and for the balance of life, anyone with a cancer diagnosis is a survivor.  For more information about our local celebration, please visit: www.CelebrateLifeIL.org.

Cancer Survivors Day 2016 will be celebrated on Sunday, June 5.
