Lauren & Lisa poster 2013

Nurses Lauren and Lisa attended the 38th annual Oncology Nursing Society Congress in Washington DC, and presented the poster Oral Oncolytics: A Comprehensive Process for Outpatient Management, a project spearheaded by the entire nursing staff.

March 2013

poster1 Our nurses have developed a comprehensive process for educating patients who take oral chemotherapy.  While a process has always been in place for patients who receive infusional treatments, the staff felt that those who take their treatments by pills/capsules didn’t have the same surveillance.  The initiative was started about a year ago by Katie and Caroline, but was brought to fruition and put into practice by the entire staff.  The project was written up and has been accepted to be presented as a poster session at 38th Annual Oncology Nursing Congress in Washington, DC on April 26, “Oral Oncolytics: A Comprehensive Process for Outpatient Management”.  Pictured  is the poster committee (from left, Katie, Caroline, Karen, Lauren, Lisa and Barb)
